Double lashing of outages for these suburbs

Thirteen suburbs to be without power two nights in a row.

Thirteen suburbs in Roodepoort will suffer power outages two nights in a row in order for essential maintenance work to be done to the grid.

According to City Power, these suburbs will be without power on the nights of 25 and 26 May.

“This forms part of our program of constantly striving to provide better service,” the entity in a press statement said.

The Record earlier reported on the 25 May planned outage. On both nights, the power will be switched off from 11pm to 6am the next morning. Thus, Wednesday 25 May from 11pm to 6am on Thursday morning 26 May, and Thursday night from 11pm to 6am on Friday morning 27 May.

Supply points are to be treated as live throughout the outage, City Power said, as the power supply may be restored at any time.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause for residents,” they said.

The following suburbs will be affected on both nights:

• Weltevreden Park

• Constantia Kloof

• Ontdekkers Park

• Discovery

• Amarosa

• Ruimsig

• Helderkruin

• Roodekrans

• Horizon View

• Honeydew

• Laser Park

• Strubens Valley

• Wilgeheuwel
