Photos: Horror accident leaves motorcyclist dead

ER24 confirmed that a motorcycle rider had died in the early hours of Sunday morning following a crash on Clarendon Drive. His bike collided with a bakkie..

ER24 paramedics, Fire and Rescue Services as well as Metro Police attended the scene. They found that the front wheel of the bike was under the bakkie and the rest of the bike was about two metres away. The biker was found several metres away from the bakkie. Upon assessment it was found he had sustained multiple injuries. Sadly nothing could be done to save his life and he was declared dead.

The driver of the bakkie was uninjured. The passenger sustained minor injuries but declined to go to hospital.

The exact cause of the incident is unknown but a bystander said the bakkie was reversing from a driveway when the motorcycle impacted (T-boned) it.

Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
