Roodepoort residents are being warned to be on high alert after a woman was abducted this weekend.
A white unmarked Quantum taxi picked up the woman at Builders Warehouse on Hendrik Potgieter Road. She allegedly was pistol-whipped, beaten and close to being raped by three armed men.
They robbed her of her valuables and dropped her off in Florida. The white Quantum taxi has no rear number plate, no markings and the sliding door window is broken.
This is not the first time such an incident has happened. Similar incidents have been reported on Ontdekkers and Main Reef Roads between Westgate and Florida.
Florida police spokesperson Lydia Dikolomela confirmed the incident took place on Saturday evening and that a case of armed robbery has been opened.
