Cricket team participate in tournament

The Florida TRM Juniors U/15 cricket team participated in the Abu Asvat Junior Cricket Tournament this weekend.

They lost to the Dobsonville team by 2 runs as victory was decided in a super over.

Florida had set a target of 12 runs in one over but Dobsonville needed one ball less to reach 15 runs for victory.

The Florida TRM Juniors U/15 cricket team then faced off against Joburg Central U/15 team. This was their last fixture of the tournament for Florida.

The Florida team bowled first after winning the toss and bowled out Central for 55 runs with 21 balls remaining.

Opening bowlers Jacob Joseph and Dean Abbott both took four wickets each with James Enslin and Henro Bouwer taking one wicket each.

Florida then came to bat and Ahmad Patel was the pick of the batsmen as he made 23 runs.

His opening partner Buddy Paraq was bowled out for four runs while the match ended with Billy van Zyl still at the crease on two runs.

Joburg Central’s bowlers did not help themselves as they had 27 wides and one no ball.
