Poorte ready for the weekend

Roodepoort Rugby Club to play another friendly match this weekend.

The Roodepoort Rugby Club will be facing off against Cullinan Rugby Club and the University of Joburg’s rugby team this weekend.

This is part of the team’s preseason training to get the players ready for the start of the Priates Grand Challenge later this month.

Last weekend the club hosted Pretoria Tuine Rugby Club and Poorte’s second team gave the visitors a 59-0 victory to make the first time playing an official match at the Hoërskool Roodepoort’s sports fields, their new home.

The U/21 team also took to the field in Patrick Ross-Allen’s first official match in charge of the team.

Although they lost 49-14 to their counterparts, the coach and his players will be looking to make amends this weekend.

First team coach Brian Armitage will be itching for his team to take to the field after last weekend’s disappointment after their opponents did not arrive for the match. The first game will kick off at 1pm on Saturday.
