Photos: Robbers hit security vehicle and then crash into a wall

Two suspects dressed in Caltex uniforms.

Last night (29 February) the driver of a Nissan Sentra with five occupants lost control of the vehicle. It first crashed into a security vehicle and then into a wall. They allegedly were on the run after a crime spree.

The men allegedly attempted to break into a house on CR Swart Road but when the neighbours sounded their alarm they fled. They then robbed a woman on the same road and took her handbag and cellphone. Further down the road they robbed a man of his wages before fleeing down Foxglove Avenue. Close to Okavongo Drive the suspects first hit an EPR reaction vehicle coincidently patrolling the area and then crashed into a wall.

When the reaction officer stopped to investigate the driver of the vehicle pulled a firearm on him before fleeing. Four of the suspects were apprehended. Two of them wore Caltex uniforms but it is uncertain whether they actually were employees of the company.

EPR, DMS Security, Dowry Security, Apcan and Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch (RNW) all assisted.
