Fuel price to drop substantially before next month’s hike

Biggest drop since January 2015.

The Department of Energy has announced that the price of petrol 95 and 93 octane will drop by 69c/litre as of tomorrow.

According to the department “the average international product prices of petrol prices decreased while diesel and illuminating paraffin increased during the period under review”. Diesel will increase by 15c/litre and illuminating paraffin by 17c/litre.

On 6 April though Finance Minister Pravin Gordon’s announcement of a general increase of 30c will come into effect.
