No chance for criminals now at Westgate Mall

Criminals beware.

Shoppers going to Westgate Mall this holiday season will be a lot safer.

This is thanks to the Roodepoort Police Station who will be conducting a crime prevention initiative at the mall.

Together with pupils from the SAPS Training College in Pretoria, they will be led around the mall ensuring the safety off shoppers and doing random searchers with experienced police officers such as colonel Gerrie van Rooyen, Warrant Officers Jacquiline Mabasa and Suzan Fernandes.

“The officers will be patrolling the entire festive season so shoppers will be at ease. We know that crime tends to spike at this time of the year so we want to combat that tradition,” said police spokesperson Nonhlanhla Khumalo.
