Residents might want to reconsider that ‘one-for-the-road’ drink at the next office party.
According to Captain Grant Keyper of Florida Police 20 motorists were arrested this past Friday evening when Florida Police and the Metro Police held a road block at an undisclosed location in Florida.
Blood samples of the suspects had been taken and sent for testing. The suspects were arrested but subsequently released on bail.
According to the Gauteng Traffic Department more people have died on the roads this December than in 2014 over the same period of time. Alcohol is one of the main contributors to the carnage on South African roads and the department’s spokesperson Obed Sibasa warned that 24-hour road blocks will be conducted this festive season.
