Future cricket star in the West Rand

Youngster to represent the West Rand in cricket.

Constantia Kloof Primary School’s Taahir Johnson has been selected to be part of the Gauteng Provincial cricket team.

He is the only player from the West Rand chosen to be part of the team that is also known as the Junior Highveld Lions.

Taahir joined the team after he impressed selectors in the Central West team.

“It feels great to be chosen because I love cricket. I’ve been playing it since the age of five. It’s a sport where you can always improve yourself game after game and break records,” said Taahir.

The grade 7 pupil will now join his team later this year where they will compete against other provinces in the Standard Bank League.

An athlete at heart, Taahir was also selected to be part of the D12 Hockey League.
