Pageant girl sparkles on runway

Mbali Msimang is growing as a pageant model.

Mbali Msimang walked away as second princess at the Mini-Miss South Africa pageant earlier this month.

This has given the seven-year-old a chance to participate in the Little Miss and Mister Galaxy next year.

She also won the adoration of the public as she was named Public Choice junior South Africa.

“I am happy to be going to another country because it’ll be the first time I go abroad. This is really exciting,” said Mbali.

She then followed up her success in the pageant with yet another podium placing at the SA Toddler and Teen Tiara Awards.

She was awarded first princess in the competition which was held in Midrand on 17 October.

“As a mother it’s exciting watching my daughter doing her best and being successful. When I look at her walking on the ramp with a huge smile on her face, pride, excitement and joy just fills me. Going to Bulgaria is a great opportunity for my daughter. We will now be looking for sponsorship to fund this trip,” said Mbali’s mother Shantelle.

Mbali will now be looking forward to the Miss Mini and Miss Million Dollar competition that will be taking place at Emperors Palace on 7 November.
