Tell us about your billing woes

Give us the details of your incorrect statements and we'll get it to the right people.

Every week the Record is inundated with phone calls and emails regarding billing botch-ups in our community.
Whether it’s a water or electricity issue or has to do with new meters that were installed, we’ve heard it all. Now we’re giving you as reader the chance to log your concern with us.

To make it a bit easier, the Record has created a form (which looks like a survey) which will take a person 5 minutes to fill in. Once complete, the information on this form will be shared with the relevant departments of the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) to work towards a solution. From today (Friday 16 October) until the end of October, you’re welcome to tell us exactly what the issue is.

Please note the form asks for contact details so that the Record or relevant municipal department can get in touch with residents. Other information, like one’s account number, is also requested to make it easier for CoJ to track the relevant account.

The information you share will not be made public and will not be shared beyond the Record’s and CoJ’s offices. With this we want to help the community solve municipal issues faster, but cannot guarantee a solution. The Record is as dependent as its readers on the continual cooperation of CoJ in solving billing queries.
