Clarke: Speak out about smart meter issues

Ward 83 councillor Suzanne Clarke urges residents to participate in a public meeting with a special agenda.

It’s time residents speak out about their problems with smart meters.

Ward 83 councillor Suzanne Clarke is providing a platform for residents to air their complaints about newly-installed smart meters and accompanying billing problems in Roodekrans, Wilro Park, Breaunanda, Princess Crossing and Helderkruin. Clarke said she had been inundated with phone calls after a previous public meeting she organised turned into a smart meter complaint forum. She urges residents to attend an upcoming public meeting about the issue.

Clarke has invited stakeholders from City Power to come answer questions and resolve queries at the meeting on 30 September. The meeting will be held at the NG Church Roodekrans on Azalea Avenue from 6.30pm. Notices of the meeting taking place will soon be put up around the ward in public spaces.
