Roads to be redone in Ward 83

Three roads have been identified as a matter of priority, JRA said.

At a recent public meeting at NG Kerk Roodekrans the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) announced three roads in the area will be redone.

The meeting, called by Ward 83 councillor Suzanne Clarke focused attending residents’ attention on municipal issues, including the upgrading of the Wilrogate substation, smart meters, street lights and roads issues.

On Wednesday night 26 August JRA Region C manager Lawrence Maseko announced to residents that Ward 83 was allocated some of the 2015/ 2016 budget for road maintenance. Three streets in the area has been identified as priority to receive a slurry seal (a mixture of emulsified asphalt, water, fine aggragate and mineral filler).

Throwback: Councillor’s hard work pays off

Bottlebrush Avenue, Pafuri Road and Serruria Avenue will soon be a pleasure to drive on, Maseko assured residents.

“We are tending to road maintenance as a matter of priority for the City and Region C; we would like residents to cooperate with ward councillors and identify problematic roads listing them by priority,” Maseko said.

Clarke thanked residents who work to uplift their neighbourhoods for attending the meeting.
