Update: Roodepoort Primary impasse stil not resolved
Community still not happy.
Regardless of 30 hours of mediation and the consultation of 19 groups of stakeholders in Roodepoort Primary School, the mediation team could not reach solution.
The mediation attempt comes after Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi announced a mediation team on Wednesday and ordered them to have a report ready on Saturday.
The team, consisting of amongst others Reverend Frank Chikane, Reverend Paul Verryn and Yvonne Chaka Chaka appealed to the community to send the 300 children who are currently not attending school to the alternative school provided. They decided though that Roodepoort Primary will not be reopened yet.
According to community leader Ronald Dyers the community is not happy with the outcome of the mediation attempt.
