Schools rugby teams battle it out in Series

The two will be selecting players for an A, B and U/15 team that will be playing against a team from KwaZulu-Natal.

The semi-finals of the Roodepoort Rugby Club schools series U/15 competition will be taking place today.

Hoërskool Bastion, Hoërskool Dinamika, Allen Glen High School and Queens High School made it to this stage of the tournament which started at the beginning of August.

The tournament, which sees school rugby teams made up grade 11 pupils, has been a mainstay competition since 1985.

However, last year, the U/15 teams were also added into the tournament.

Teams from all over the province participated in the competition and the senior playoff matches will be taking placing starting this morning.

Yesterday, Allen Glen beat Hoërskool Jan Viljoen 24-10, Bastion defeated Hoërskool Bryanston 48-0.

Queens beat Randpark High School 40-18 and Dinamika defeated Hoërskool Bekker 34-5.

In the crowd, selectors such as former Transvaal captain Toy Dannhauser and Monty Beyneveldt.
