Bogus officials on the prowl again

Load shedding afford criminals an opportunity.

Criminals acting as City Power employees are at it again.

Florida Community Policing Forum (CPF) has issued a warning to residents saying they have been notified by community members that there is a white four by four 4×4 bakkie with three guys in blue overalls and City Power badges saying they have to change cables in houses.

They ask for the resident’s account number and ask them to complete forms.

“Please do not let them in. We have called City Power and they are not aware of this project. We urge the community to please be very careful. We have been having power issues and it seems the criminals are using this to get access to your homes. Please be vigilant at all times,” read the warning.
