Another dealer taken off the streets

Suspect caught after trying to flee.

A foreign national was arrested in Newlands last Thursday for dealing in drugs.

At about 1.30pm, while members of Florida Police and Roodepoort K9 unit were busy with drug operations around the Florida area, they received information about drug dealing at a certain address in Anzac Road. They rushed to the scene but the suspect ran away. A chase ensued and he was apprehended by members from the K9 unit.

The Police conducted a search in his room and discovered 16 clear plastic packets containing a white powdery substance suspected to be drugs, and 47 packets containing dagga.

The suspect, aged 28 was detained for dealing in drugs and dagga and will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court soon.
