Horison pensioner found murdered

Church food delivery service got suspicious.

A murder case has been opened after a 67-year-old female’s body was discovered in Horison yesterday afternoon.

It is believed the woman, who was tied up, could have been murdered as early as last week Thursday or Friday. Her body was discovered after members of the church who delivers food to her house everyday, got suspicious when she did not collect the meals they left at her post box, said her friend of 20 years 81-year-old Baby Holder.

According to Roodepoort Police spokesperson Nonhlanhla Khumalo it is suspected she was strangled. It is uncertain at this stage whether anything was stolen.

A case of murder has been opened. The Police asked the Record not to release the street name where the murder took place.
