Planned darkness for Florida tonight
Residents are warned of a planned outage tonight and tomorrow in Florida and surrounds.
A necessary planned power interruption is scheduled for Florida and surrounding areas tonight from 10pm, according to City Power.
The affected areas include Florida, Florida Ext 2, 3, 4, 9, Florida Glen Ext 7, Florida Hills Ext 2, Florida North, Florida North Ext 1 and 5, Florida View, Industria North Ext 1, Maraisburg, Maraisburg Ext 1, 2 and 3, Paarderand Ext 1 and Robertville Ext 12 and 13.
“The interruption is necessary to do essential maintenance work on our network,” City Power in a public announcement stated.
“It forms part of our program of constantly striving to provide better service.”
The interruption is scheduled from 10pm on Monday 10 August to 6am on Tuesday 11 August, but the supply may be restored at any time.
“Customers are urged to treat their electricity supply points as live at all times,” the utility said.
