This morning (8 July) I went to the City of Johannesburg’s Service Centre in Florida for a very simple administrative manner.

I arrived at 8.35am (I have a document to prove this) and I only got to the front of the queue at 10am.

Shortly thereafter, an announcement was made that the system will be offline for five to 10 minutes.

At 11am I decided to leave because the system was still offline and the consultants were drinking coffee and having small talk.

A question I would like to have answered is how dare the City of Johannesburg call themselves a “World Class African City” when it is obvious that we are not a World Class City? Also, why don’t they have a back-up system like every other business has?

It is just not ethical to wait at a bank for three hours and then being told they are offline.

Is the Johannesburg Municipality in the same boat as Eskom who is being run by kaders who were previously carpenters and plumbers?

I just want to know.
