Seven speedsters nabbed

Metro Police have hands full.

The highest speed that was clocked this past Sunday by a law breaker was by a 41-year-old motorcyclist on his BMW doing 212km/h in a 120km/h zone.

Seven drivers were arrested for speeding this past Sunday when the Metro Police trapped on the N1 close to 14th Avenue, according to Metro Police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar.

An eighth man was arrested after he tried to flee the police on his motorcycle but crashed into a Metro Police vehicle. His passenger was seriously injured.

The suspects will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates court soon on charges of reckless and negligent driving.
