Newlands flats on fire
According to unconfirmed reports, a four-year-old toddler perished in the fire which was caused by a fallen candle.
A block of flats in Newlands on Ontdekkers Road and 13th Street caught fire last night. The roads had to be cordoned off as firefighters fought the blaze.
Emergency services such as ER24 and Netcare 911 along with JMPD and the Johannesburg Fire Department were swiftly on the scene.
