Golden Reef time trials to prep for Comrades Marathon

Runners this year will have an extra 877 metres to run.

The Golden Reef Running Club held their last time trials before they head down to Durban for the Comrades Marathon this weekend.

The club has been hard at work, preparing for the 89 kilometre ultra-marathon.

Runners this year will have an extra 877 metres to run.

This is because of GO!Durban Integrated¬ Rapid Public Transport Network road-works in Pinetown.

The route had to be deviated between the 69 kilometre and 67 kilometre to go Bonitas kilometre marker boards.

The time-trial results follows.

8 Kilometres runners:

  • Bennet Maleyana            36.50
  • Rikus Kranhold  36.32
  • Rudolf Liebenberg 42.48
  • Cassie Carstens 48.00
  • Schantel Botha  53.00
  • Peder Firman     53.00

4 Kilometres runners:  

  • Megan Kronberger         31.51
  • Desiree Hainsworth        31.51

4 Kilometres walkers:     

  • Marjan Bailey    41.50
  • Peter Wakes      41.50
