Motivating the youth

A Save our Children fundraiser at Cecil Payne.

As the subject suggests, this is our aspiration…

We all are painfully aware, that the future of South Africa is in danger of permanent debilitation, thanks to the drug scourge currently ripping our country. As parents, we are deeply affected by the devastation and destruction of kids, families, communities and in turn our nation, we appeal to your sense of patriotism and parenthood to join us in our mission to “Save our children”.

We will be hosting a “Save Our Children” Fundraiser concert on 16 June (Youth day) at the Cecil Payne Stadium in Florida, Roodepoort. We are approaching numerous local talents (Dr Victor, Mi Casa, inspirational speakers who relate to drug addiction – now ‘clean’ etc.)to perform/share their experiences.

The concert will start at 10am and end at 6pm. Space for Stalls are available for private “entrepreneur’s” at R200 to sell food and the likes, hereby creating some form of income, which is so desperately needed in our communities, given our current economic climate. Business owners are being approached to advertise their brands on the day for a minimal donation of R1000.

Our objective is to raise funds (which will be placed in trust) which will in turn enable us to source rehabilitation facilities and place drug addicts into programmes which provide the necessary counselling and discipline to enable them to take back their lives and endeavour to fullfil their purpose in society.

Our paths have crossed so many youngsters, who have been abandoned by their families, society and in fact our country itself. Whilst one can empathise with families, our conscience simply cannot allow us to sit back and do nothing any longer. Can you/we make a difference? Yes! We strongly believe that it ‘starts with one (1)’ South Africa faces the cold realisation that we have a lost generation. What will happen to them and indeed their children, if something, anything is not done to end this scourge?

Your contribution, no matter how minute it may seem to you is vitally important to us and is sincerely appreciated.
