Die Adelaar triumph over rivals

Hoërskool Die Adelaar rugby team hosted one of their local rivals Florida Park High school this week.

The home side were in scintillating form as they scored seven tries.

Die Adelaar’s Amukelani Mhinga, Luvo Mqongwama, Brian Sefora, Sagwadi Mathebula, Chadrack Tshimanga, Nhlakanipho Shongwe and Tsatsi Tlhabanelo all scored a try each. Three of the tries were successfully converted.

In reply, Florida Park High School could only manage one try.

Head coach Sean Lowery was pleased with his team’s performance although he pointed out there is still room for improvement.

“The team did well today but there are still facets of our game we still need to work on. The important one is player support. There were times when times when an attacking player would break the opponents defensive line but there was no support for him from our players,” he said.
