Mikaela into Southern Gauteng Hockey Team

Mikeala de Ponte from Constantia Kloof Primary School has made it through to the Southern Gauteng U/13 hockey team.

Constantia Kloof Primary School’s Mikaela de Ponte has made it through to the Southern Gauteng U/13 hockey team.

She is one of two pupils chosen in the district.

Mikaela, who plays centre link position said she is privileged to be chosen to represent her province.

“I am happy to be in the team because I love hockey and I hope being in the team will improve my playing abilities,” she said.

The grade seven pupil also plays various other sports including netball, tennis, swimming and dancing.

The schools Head of Department(HOD) for extra-curricular activities Johan Richard said he is proud of Mikaela for making the team.

“Not many of our pupils have been chosen to be part of this prestigious team so I am happy that Mikaela’s talent was recognized,” he said.

The school also had six pupils that made it into the , Amy Pace , a grade seven pupil also made the D12 hockey team.

Michael Williams, Taahir Johnson, Bothlale Mofokeng and twin brothers Luke and Reece Labuschagne made it into the U/13 D12 hockey team.
