Bastion victorious against Hugenote
Massive win for Bastion.
It was a weekend of sports at Hoërskool Bastion as they hosted Hoërskool Hugenote from Springs.
In rugby, the first team were the only ray of sunshine as they beat their opponents 28-22 in an exciting match.
The team scored two tries in the first half and a third in the second half to seal the victory.
“I am proud of the boys and we are starting to see the system I have put in place is starting to work. We’ve had two close losses in previous matches but the team is starting to believe. People must not write us off. This is a massive win for us. The community must keep on watching us because we are busy with development here, we don’t have big contracts,” said head coach Wesley Pretorius.
The third team lost 22-7 to Hugenote rugby team and the U/16A lost 46-10.
Bastion also took on Hugenote in Hockey. The boys first team won 6-3 while the girls first team drew 1-1.
