Charity Haven desperate to survive

Donations are desperately needed to keep Charity Haven afloat.

Charity Haven is in desperate need of donations to survive.

This is according to the owner Herman Engelke whose business is situated in very poor areas such as Maraisburg, Newlands, Claremont, Mont Clare, Newclare and Westbury.

This non-profit organisation supports Meals on Wheels for the elderly in the areas.

Engelke said he will gladly accept anything from household goods to garden and garage stuff. “Things like clothes, furniture, brick-a-brack, kitchen ware, cutlery and bedding are always welcome. I really need help and donations of any kind from the public to assist in this matter. The need in the areas are big,” he said.

Engelke added that he keeps the children busy by reading stories to them or encourage them to draw so that their mothers can shop in peace. “The shop is also in need of any old stationary.”

If anyone can assist, call Engelke on 071-237-5844.
