A man believed to be between 20 and 30 years of age sustained fatal injuries when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree in Helderkruin, yesterday.
It is understood the man, the only occupant of the vehicle, was driving downhill in Galena Avenue when he lost control of the car and hit a tree.
ER24 paramedics and others services arrived on scene and found the man trapped in the vehicle.
He was assessed and it was found that he had sustained severe head injuries.
He was extricated by Fire and Rescue Services.
Paramedics began CPR and Advanced Life Support treatment. Unfortunately after 10 minutes no signs of life returned and the patient was declared dead.
The exact cause of the incident in unknown.
