Drugs found at Maimane’s church

ANC heckles DA parliamentary leader.

The church at which DA parliamentary leader and local resident Mmusi Maimane is a part time pastor, Liberty Church was raided by police last Friday and a bag of tik was found.

According to Roodepoort police spokesperson Nonhlanhla Khumalo no docket has been opened due to the fact that the abandoned bag of tik was not found on any person. The raid took place during a youth event. Some of the parents now want to instate a class action against the police and want the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) to investigate the raid. The parents said they were not against the raid but the fact that there were complaints of sexual harassment and some of the youth were manhandled.

Maimane, who has a theology degree, was not at the church during the raid.

In the meanwhile during the notion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma that has been raised in parliament, the ANC heckled Maimane during his speech with shouts of “drugs,drugs” and “are you still high on drugs”.
