Delfos Cricket Club

The Delfos Cricket Club are looking to make the most of the remaining few weeks of this cricket season.

The club’s first team are currently in fourth position on the Premier League.

The senior team has former Proteas international Garnett Kruger as a player coach to guide the players with his vast experience and expertise.

Executive board members Faizel Sallie and Earle Glennistor are always with the team during practice to lend their support.

“This season has been a fine one because a lot of youngsters have come through the system and are doing well. This proves the way we are doing things work for us,” said Sallie.

“The first half of the season was dedicated to limited overs cricket while the second half is dedicated time competition, a form test cricket played in a single day,” he added.

The club also has a second team participating in the President’s League.

“For the next few weeks our goal is to make sure all our teams are competitive and give 100% in the matches we play,” said Sallie.

The club also have a junior programme on Saturdays starting from mini-cricket to U/15 with almost 100 youngsters. They play under the Gauteng Cricket Board’s junior league.

“We are proud to have so many young players in the club and the community should come out to support of the team. From the mini-cricket players to the seniors, when there are home games scheduled for all the teams, we use all the grounds and it’s an amazing sight,” said Sallie.
