Woman arrested for explosives

The Roodepoort SAPS arrested a woman on Friday for possession of illegal explosives at Matholesville, Lindelani squatter camp.

After searching her house, police found nine detonators, nine drilling bits, four orange explosives and a bottle containing silver liquid suspected to be Mercury.

The arrest occurred during the police’s stop and search operation around the Roodepoort’s precinct. Police also arrested 38 more suspects in separate incidents for various activity including common assault, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possession of stolen goods.

The police closed down five shebeens on the same day.

The suspects were charged and detained at the Roodepoort SAPS.
