Update: School investigating bullying incident
School and parents are cooperating with each other.
An incident yesterday at Laerskool Dr Havenga where bullying went awry to such an extent that the victim had to be fetched by an ambulance, is being investigated by the school.
According to principal Leon Visser a preliminary investigation has been initiated and all parties are cooperating.
“We are a school that always do our best. As with any other case where bad behaviour is involved, the school takes it very seriously and investigates it properly. In a worst case scenario it will be referred to the school governing body,” said Visser.
He also said that the grade 6 pupil has recovered to such an extent that he is going to participate in an athletics event tomorrow
Once the investigation is conclude the school will give an official comment on their findings.
