A male body was found in the early hours of Wednesday, 7 January.

The body was discovered in Moorcroft Avenue and details about the scene and the person remain unclear.

The record spoke to Honeydew Cluster SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Mavimbela who could not confirm the discovery of the body.

“I spoke to the nearest police stations, we do not carry any knowledge that such a body has been discovered.”

Mavimbela said procedure advocates that once a body is discovered and the police are alerted, detectives are to be sent to the scene to do an initial investigation.

Johannesburg Forensic Pathology Services has confirmed that the body has been taken to a mortuary.

Earlier this week a male body was also found in Roodekrans at an adventure centre. The man was positively identified as that of Monnakopsi Samuel Molefe, believed to be in his mid-30s at the time of his death.
