I don’t know if Roodepoort record knows how I can solve my problem.

My 87-year-old mother lives in an older building in Florida that has no intercom. It makes it difficult for the meter readers to get in. However, we do phone and try and make an appointment and are lucky if they turn up. I have emailed my reading through to City Power. When the meter readers can get in, they take a reading and submit it to City power, however when I get the account they have estimated the reading and don’t use the actual readings given.

We had to pay R9 000 recently – which we didn’t have – due to estimations over the year and I don’t know what to do to get the actual readings through to City Power. The call centre staff don’t really know what is going on. Going forward, if we keep being estimated we are going to be sitting with the same situation of large bills. Does anyone have solution?
