There are officially only two Roodepoort record issues left before the office close for the Christmas season.
It has been a long and tough year for some people and we all deserve a well-deserved rest before we tackle the next year’s challenges.

Although the offices close on 19 December, two record journalists will be on standby to ensure the website, facebook and Twitter are updated on a daily basis. This means that even though you are in another province, enjoyed the sand, sea or bushveld, you can still log onto the website for updates on trending crimes, Christmas and New Year’s babies and municipal problems that might occur.

The two journalists on duty will be myself, Roelien Vorster and I can be contact on 082 324 8275 until 24 December while Sonwabile Antonie will take over from 26 December until 2 January. He can be contacted on 078 025 8857.
The office will officially open its doors again on 5 January to prepare for the first edition of the year the same week.

To those who are travelling, please take it easy on the road. There will be idiots trying to show off or who might be under the influence. Be vigilant and make sure your reach your destination safe and sound. Make sure your pets are looked after and that they are safe, especially during New Year’s celebrations. Some idiots still don’t adhere to the law and refrain from setting off fireworks.

Those who are staying at home, be careful, criminals don’t take leave or go on holiday. They might just be more active since they know that people go away.

Please also don’t hesitate to call me or Sony if there are urgent news that we can report on.
May you enjoy the holidays and come back safe.
Take care of one another.
