A burglar was caught red handed by an ADT security guard and handed over to the police.

Clive Humphrey, the Managing Director of ADT Central Region said two male suspects entered a property in Wilro Park by jumping over the precast wall and breaking the sliding door. She said this activated the alarm and once they entered the premises, they also forced open the security gate leading to the bedrooms.

ADT reaction officer Michael Sello arrived on the scene in minutes and succeeded in apprehending one of the suspects and recovered the stolen laptop, Humphrey said and added that the other suspect managed to escape.

“The man was handed over to the Roodepoort Police,” Humphrey said.

Director of ADT Central Region, commended Officer Sello for his swift action in apprehending one of the suspects while still on the premises. This was directly

the result of the homeowners being diligent about arming their alarm. He also advises that residents and homeowners check their burglar bars and security

gates for rust or weak spots as these weak spots can often be easily broken or forced open.
