Six suspects nabbed in Witpoortjie

The West Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch apprehend six suspects in Witpoortjie.

Every dog has its day and the West Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch (WSRNW) made it reality for six suspects recently.

Six suspects were apprehended for crimes ranging from breaking and entering to petty theft. The spokesperson of WSRNW, Frik van Zyl, in a press statement said that the owner of a house in Bart Street saw three suspects jumping the fence.

“He contacted us and went on to confront them.”

“Two suspects fled, but we were able to arrest the third,” Van Zyl said and added that around 3.30pm the same day another call was logged about a person having been robbed on Reitz Street. WSRNW patrollers apprehended three suspects.

Two men were also reported that were allegedly stealing steel barriers on Randfontein Road. WSRNW patrollers responded and arrested both suspects. The suspects were later handed over to Roodepoort police.
