Michael’s life full of drama

Besides loving to be on stage, Michael enjoys tennis, judo, rugby and of course playing with his sister and two brothers.

Michael Joshua Pereira is a Grade 0 pupil at Maragon Private Schools who lives for the stage.

Trained by Linda Theron of the Linda Theron Drama Studio, Michael auditioned for the South African Championships of the Performing Arts in October 2013 and was chosen to represent Gauteng at the national competition in Rustenburg in April this year. There he collected two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

Michael also was chosen to represent Team South Africa in Los Angeles. Because he is so young still, his parents decided aginst sending him to LA.

In August he took part in the RACA Eisteddfod, said to be one of the country’s biggest of its kind. He scooped up four diamond certificates (95 per cent or more), one platinum certificate (90 per cent to 94 per cent) and one gold certificate (80 to 90 per cent).

Michael was invited to the RACA awards ceremony out of thousands of children on 28 September. There he was named the category winner for prepared mime, category winner for English monologue and received an award of excellence for 4+ Diamonds. He also was named the overall individual winner of the pre-primary schools section.

He received four huge certificates, a badge, a trophy as well as R500 in cash.
