Region C Sports Council elects executive committee
The meeting was chaired and coordinated by Junior Ramovha.
Aubrey Thomas “The Running Man” became the first democratically elected president of the City of Johannesburg Region C Sports Council.
The six existing known ward sports committees met recently to elect the first executive of the body. The meeting was chaired and coordinated by Junior Ramovha, the president of the Johannesburg Sports Council (JSC) and all arrangements and logistics were conducted by James Phera, general secretary of Johannesburg Sports Council.
An executive committee was elected on the day.
President: Aubrey Thomas
First vice president: Ndiviwe Cuthalele
Second vice president: Tshepo Kgwadi
Committee members: Thabang Myekeni, Emmanuel Mokhoane, Pheello Kotelo, Moeketsi Hlazo, Leilane Ferris, Keamogetswe Nchabeleng, Nomvula Kenyane and Andrew Stride
Mackuie Venter, Head of the Sports and Recreation, congratulated the new committee members. He applauded Thomas for the excellent work done to build Region C and assisting in forming the area sports committee.
Thomas encourages the other 11 wards to bring forward their sports representatives.
