SPCA’s little slice of heaven for bookworms

Something for every taste at second-hand bookstore.

For those who believe there never can be enough book stores, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty towards Animals (SPCA) has good news.

It recently opened the doors of its very own second-hand book store. The store relies on donations from the public and all proceeds goes towards the SPCA’s good cause.

There are hundreds of titles available – from high brow literature to pulp fiction. Over and above fiction there are books on gardening, pets, crafts, religion and much more. It also stocks a wide variety of old magazines. Prices start at R1 and bibliophiles will be surprised at what treasures they can find for next to nothing.

The store is open Mondays to Saturdays from 9am until 12.30pm. Manager Mark Taylor says that book dealers are welcome to visit.

For more info or to arrange to donate your books, Taylor can be reached on 082 299 3209 or 011 672 0448. The SPCA is situated on Nadine Road, Maraisburg.
