Petrol price could rise – AA

Motorists to take more financial strain.

Motorists can steel themselves for another petrol price hike at the end of the month according to the Automobile Association (AA).

Although not set in stone, the hike of 26c/l is more than likely, based on unaudited daily fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund. Despite the fact that there has been a decrease in international petroleum prices, it has not been enough to offset the under recovery in the petrol price. Along with an increase in inflation, the price hike will have an impact on business ultimately leading to unemployment according to economist Mike Schussler.

According to the AA diesel is looking more favourable with a slight price increase of 3.5c/l and illuminating paraffin with an increase of 4.5c/l.
