“Recession” they cry as everyone tightens their belts and hides their wallets.

The whiners feel pleased that they have a legitimate reason for their self-proclaimed financial difficulties and businesses clamp down on spending in anticipation of hard times ahead.

For my household it is business as usual.

I have a way of mentally blocking out any bad economic twists and to date it has served me well.

I’ve always been on the average salary and also have had expenses such as rent, accounts, petrol et cetera, but somehow my finances remain on the stable side.

My better half and I do go through tight financial times, but it always balances out.

I’m pretty sure that the less you focus on the recession, the less you will feel it.

On the flipside, anticipate it in fear and stay aware of its approach and I can guarantee that you will be painfully aware of its effects too.

If you wish, take note that you might be paying a lot more for certain things, lose money you preferred to hold on to, but go about your life as you would.

Life is much better lived with a smile than in fearful anticipation of the unknown.
