Pints donated at Blood Drive

At least 10 pints of blood was donated at Face 2 Face in Roodepoort during the West Rand Blood Drive last Friday (9 June).

The Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Rocci) teamed up with beauty school Face 2 Face Roodepoort to afford local entrepreneurs and residents the opportunity to donate blood.

Donors could be found in a South African National Blood Service (SANBS) tent outside Face 2 Face in Ontdekkers Road registering for the donation on Friday. Beauty school students lent a hand in organising the potential donors and offering them juice and snacks. Although the weather affected the number of people willing to donate, Lebo Seatlholo of the Krugersdorp branch was thankful for the 10 pints they bled.

“SANBS does brilliant work; we try to host a West Rand Blood Drive at least twice a year to support them,” said Isabel Janse van Rensburg, Rocci representative.

Rocci’s Diané Graham bravely donated for the third time on Friday while Willie van Wyk from BestSure, also a Rocci member, donated for the very first time and received a certificate thanking him for the brave gesture.

“We thank everyone for their efforts and hope to see the same and new faces at the next West Rand Blood Drive.”
