Parker out for four months

Striker to wear a moon boot for the next six weeks.

Kaizer Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner confirmed that striker Bernard Parker will be out of action for between three to four months.

The striker is recovering from ankle surgery which will see him wearing a moon boot, to improve stability and secure the ankle, for the next six weeks.

“Parker has undergone surgery on his ankle. We expect Parker to be fully recovered in 3-4 months which means he will miss the start of the 2014/15 season,” said Milner.

“The PSL’s 2013/14 Top Goal Scorer battled throughout the season with a troubling ankle injury which led to the Medical Team deciding to carry out the surgery sooner than later.”

Parker finished the 2013/14 season as the Absa Premiership’s top goal scorer with ten goals to his name in the league.

As a result of his injury he has also been withdrawn from the voters list for the upcoming Carling Black Label Cup.

Parker was one of the favourites in the voting polls and was just behind the current leading pair of Knowledge Musona and Katelgo Mphela in the votes for the strikers.
