Numerous bulletproof vests dumped

More than 50 vests and jackets found at Mary Louise dumping site.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) is to investigate why a number of their bulletproof vests and jackets were found at a local dumping site.

Metro Police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar confirmed that the matter is to be investigated after more than 50 bulletproof vests and jackets were found dumped among ordinary rubble at the Mary Louis dumping site recently.

Resident Eddie Strydom says that he discovered the vests and jackets when dumping garden refuse.

“Other people saw it too and could not understand why it was there for all to see,” Strydom says.

Minnaar is yet to comment further on the matter.

  1. And then they wonder why we don’t trust the SAPS as little as we do? Its a total disgrace! Why were they dumped in the first place? Or was it an inside job from a criminal working there they don’t know about at the station? Sissss !!!

  2. And another thing. Mr. Minnaar won’t be honest if he does reply! Helll hide away the real truth that’s happening at the police stations all over! Disgusting.
