Multiple vehicles collided on Ontdekkers Road near Abbott Street earlier this afternoon (Wednesday 21 May) resulting in one patient being hospitalised.
According to ER24 spokesperson Russell Meiring four vehicles collided on Ontdekkers Road to which ER 24 was alerted around 1.30pm. One vehicle had overturned as a result of the collision. Paramedics treated several patients for minor injuries at the scene. One female patient later was transported to Life Flora Clinic for further medical treatment.
“It is not clear to us how the accident happened,” Meiring says.
Senior flight paramedic Faisal Binks tweeted that only one lane remained open while the scene was being handled.
Meiring reports that traffic flow was back to normal at 2.55pm.
