Fun day at Sparrow Village

Sparrow Village hosts a sports day to raise funds and collect food.

Bookkeeper of Sparrow Rainbow Village, Rushfieda Brown invites residents to join them for their annual sports and fun day this March.

Rushfieda is happy to announce that the fun day will be at Cecil Payne Stadium on 29 March at 10am. Activities might carry on until around 5pm.

“The goal of this day is to raise funds and collect food for the Sparrow Rainbow Village,” says Brown.

“Although we are not charging a monetary entrance fee, we really would like each person attending to bring two cans of non-perishable food with them, that we will collect at the gate.”

On the day stalls will be available in a flea-market setup, refreshing cold drinks and food will be sold. Stalls are still available to be booked at R150 per stall. Of course, being the essence of the day, all sorts of fun activities are planned. Sports including softball, baseball, soccer and all sorts of fun races will be played. The SAPS also will be doing demonstrations and have a display throughout the day. This year again some local artists, including SK, Lungelo, Sizwe Ngema and Toyoter are providing entertainment on the day.
