Good family fun at the Roodepoort Museum

Families can't miss out on the Roodepoort Museum's family fun day this February.

Why not take the family and have some fun at the Roodepoort Museum on Saturday 8 February?

The Roodepoort Museum seems just the thing for a fun family outing as it sports a new look to invite residents to understand its purpose.

Festivities at the Museum include being open for guided tours in partnership with the West-Gauteng branch of the Genealogical Society of South Africa. Another opportunity includes learning more about genealogy and researching one’s family history from the Genealogical Society.

“You may not be the descendent of a well-known family but that does not mean you won’t have an interesting family history,” says Carolina Geldenhuys.

“A team of experts will be available to tell you how to go about recording and researching your family history.”

Other local acts available during the course of the day includes comedians, bands and dancers, as well as face painters. A jumping castle will be made available for the younger children.

Entrance costs R45 per adult and R20 per child over the age of 12 (children under 12 enter for free).

The Roodepoort Museum is situated in the Civic Centre at 100 Christiaan de Wet Road, Florida Park. For further information, contact the Museum on 011 761 0226.
